NOTHING HE HAD SUNG ABOUT COULD INJURED HIM
A teenager studies piano: he rehearses pieces of the classical repertoire. This is what we look at: his hands, his concentrated eyes, all his body consecrated to the labour of understanding and recreating that heritage. All in him is future and possibility. On a screen, we watch a video of six long minutes of the Congress of the United States applauding the invasion of Afghanistan ten days after the fall of the twin towers. That world, as the music he studies, is an heritage for him and the place where his future will take place. The world celebrates war and a teenager sits to practice classical pieces in his piano.
